Abu Na’ama, Sudan
During last year’s rainy season (Ar.: khariif; خريف), ʿAwad met Maahi Bello, the convalescent of 1996, again. Maahi’s settlement is quite close to the main road in order to protect agricultural fields, which have expanded in the area, from damage. That is why a donkey belonging to a woman who lives in his hamlet was hit by a lorry. ʿAwad regrets that there is no proper range management. Pockets of agriculture are everywhere. There are no corridors for nomads.
