Beschreibung
In the face of climate change and the multiple socio-ecological crises of the present, one of the most important tasks for a good future for all is to create a strong sustainable socio-ecological society. I will talk about my research and activist involvement in, with, and for the Degrowth Movement that is working for such a strong sustainable society. I will talk about my empirical 'activist research' in and for climate camps (2017-2018), the 'Degrowth Summer School', and alternative post-capitalist social-ecological projects in Germany. Main topics are: why should and how can anthropologists and anthropology contribute to the creation of a sustainable society? What does it mean to do 'activist research' and 'activist anthropology'? What role do ethics and values play? What does it mean to politicize science and anthropology and why is this crucial for a socioecological transformation?(Speaker's abstract)
